I have just had a great experience with mirrorfit.co.uk!  We needed a custom size mirror to fit the length of the bathroom wall.  I looked around locally and the costs were crazy just for a mirror ranging from £300 plus fitting up to £400.  I had a look online in a dubious fashion as purchasing objects such as these from an online company always worry me.  You cannot see the stock, you are unaware of the quality and you generally feel a little apprehensive.  I needn't have been.

I got a quote from mirrorfit.co.uk, putting in the exact measurements of the mirror.  I called the office to check the details and also to ease my mind by speaking with someone.  They explained the best mirror to have in a bathroom and the safety feature of foil backing on such a large mirror. I had to also make sure the walls had had a covering of PVA like you would with any freshly plastered walls. I was then able to purchase the mirror from their website www.mirrorfit.co.uk.  The total was £125.00.

I was then called to ask about fitting and was quoted £80 plus VAT for the area where I live.  I booked that in and was informed they would call back to set the appointment.  So in total, I got the mirror plus fitting for around the £300 price.

True to their word, I got a call back and the delivery was set for 4 days later.  The fitters turned up on time and were finished within 15 minutes!  I do not want you all to think it will be this fast as we are the exception due to the walls being newly plastered so flat and easy to fix to.  They left no mess, cleaned the mirror and left. 

Now we have a beautiful mirror hung on the wall where we needed it and the tiler can now finish. I have been very happy with the service I received from start to finish and would definitely say they are worth a look the nest time you need glass or mirror.

ABC Reading Eggs

The site ABC Reading Eggs was easy to use and follow.  My daughter loved the fun games.  These including putting letters in words, sounding out letters and trying to draw the letters using a mouse.

After using the ABC Reading Eggs web site for over 5 weeks, my daughter cannot read any better than she did at the beginning.  Some of the games were fine for her but at the tender age of 4 I do believe some of the content was too much for her.  I can see the concept as a whole working for others and it may work for her in the future but at the moment it has not.  She wants to continue with it and we will start it up again after having a break at Christmas.  The main reason I stopped though is because I did not want to pay for something that had not had an impact on her at all.

I did like the site and will try it again because as I said, the concept is a good one.  If you try it, let me know how you get on!

Bio Gel Nails

Weddings can bring out the 'girlyness' in us women and what better way to get girly than getting make overs?!  My sister is getting married in April so we have been trying different things out for it.  We went for a trial of the new 'Bio Gel Nails' after hearing how good they are.

First of all, they are not extensions.  You can sometimes get a top tab extension but if you think they are like acrylics then you are mistaken.  The nails are reinforced nail varnish that are designed to be resilient while protecting the nail underneath.  I have very brittle nails and so I am always happy to try anything.

It took about 45 minutes for the full application.  It started off with a file and nail clear ups.  After which layer upon layer of the 'gel' is painted onto the nail.  It was alternated between clear and the colour - I had chosen a light pink but there are now a range of colours plus you can have french manicure.  Each layer is then set using a UV light.  This is creating the strength is the varnish and stops each layers from mixing together.

Once all the layers are completed then the nails are good to go.  They are dry and strong from the moment you leave.

I had them applied 2 weeks ago.  The nails are visibly stronger and longer.  It has meant that the nail can flourish underneath giving me a good length all round.  I am going to have them removed tomorrow to see just how strong the nails are so watch this space!

ABC Reading Eggs!

I received a Rambo Alert from 'Social Moms' this morning and one thing caught my eye - get your child to read in 5 weeks.....! Always worth a look when people are so confident their product will work.  I clicked through and came to ABC Reading Eggs website.  My youngest is 4 in December so I wondered if they could cater for her and apparently they can.  I was able to sign up for a free trial after using the code USS28MOM from the Rambo Alert. Apparently I now start the course with my daughter and she should be reading in 5 weeks. 

After nursery today, we will start the course, watch this space, this could get interesting readers!
